Tim Howard belives that by securing the long term futures of some of the clubs best players, they have in turn made Goodison a much more attractive place for new signings. Tim is glad to have signed his new contract along with Yobo & Jagielka;
“It’s great news,” Howard told the club site. “I’m excited for those guys [Jagielka and Yobo] and it’s really nice to see how happy they are here and how much they want to stay here.
“That has a knock-on effect. It makes me want to be here, it makes the next guy want to be here.
“If you’re offered a new deal you don’t really stall over it – you’re just delighted the Club feels that way about you.
“It’s been a fantastic three years and this is the place I want to be so, for me, the feeling was mutual.”
Tim also wants to build on this tremendous season by winning some silverware next season;
“I feel the Club is going in the right direction,” he said. “Two top five finishes, the FA Cup final; we’re moving onward and upward.
“The manager is dedicated and wants to take us in the right direction. A lot of players have signed deals in the last one or two years and if we didn’t think this was a place we wanted to be, I’m sure we’d be elsewhere. But the dedication is there so hopefully the good results will continue.”
