The next four weeks are set to be some of the most exciting times as an Everton fan in recent years. We are still challenging for the chance not to have to play a 3rd Qualifying round of the newly re-named Europa League, buy finishing 5th this term, and then of course we have the game against Champions League semi-finalists Chelsea to battle for our first silverware in 14 years.
Today sees the visit of a Tottenham squad, rejuvenated by the arrival of Harry Redknapp, and the re-arrival of Robbie Keane and Jermaine Defoe, that are still challenging for their own place in Europe. Indeed the next three league games and the FA Cup final pit Everton against 4 London teams, with the 3 in the league all still pushing for Europe.
David Moyes has stated this week that the players cannot lose focus in the coming weeks, as they are playing for their FA Cup final places, and they will all need to be at the top of their games if we are to get what we need from our final three games against Spurs, West Ham & Fulham.
Back to todays game; with Tony Hibbert still out and Jacobsen facing a late fitness test, we could se the return to right back of Captain Marvel. This will free up a midfield birth for Jack Rodwell, with Leon Osman also struggling this could free up another starting berth for young derby-winner Dan Gosling, who was almost invisible in last weeks game.
Assuming that Moyes will not risk the two strugglers I expect the team to be:
Howard, Neville, Baines, Yobo, Lescott, Pienaar, Fellaini, Cahill, Rodwell, Gosling, Jo
Subs: Kids!!!
Prediction: 1-0 (Fellaini)
