Here we go again, another Merseyside Derby is upon us, with both teams starting to come into a little bit of form. Form, ha, what does that matter on Derby day! One stat that is quite worrying tho’ is the fact (someone told me) that we haven’t won at Anfield in 11 years! This is a shocking stat, but does put into context where we have been the past 15 years or so. Yes we are improving and at times (and with fit squads) have played the best football I have seen an Everton team ever play but we still are lacking a certain something that the current ‘Big 4′ posses, strength in depth.
I used the term current ‘Big 4′ as I believe that our neighbors lack of strength in depth behind their first team (Reina, Gerrard & Torres) may cost them dearly come the end of the season. With 1/3 of their team out in Torres again this weekend things may look quite rosy for us.
I expect Moyes to go with largely the same team that beat Wigan, if unconvincingly at the weekend hopefully with Arteta back on the bench.
