CONFIRMED: Samuel Eto’o joins Sampdoria.

Samuel Eto’o has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal to join U.C Sampdoria today. Eto’o only spent half a year at Everton but it was widely reported that he wasn’t happy with the amount of game time he had.

Eto’o may have thought, because of his great season for Chelsea, that he would get a good amount of game time but he has been blocked from the first team by Romelu Lukaku and Steven Naismith.

It’s a shame to see Eto’o leave so early but it is understandable that a top player like him doesn’t want to stay with a team who are fighting relegation at the moment.

Eto’o started just 5 games for Everton and 3 of those were in the Europa League so we can understand his disappointment but maybe Martinez should have used him more because Lukaku has had a poor season so far and we could have used his experience to help us win games.
