Why can’t we play like we did on Thursday every week?! It was a performance to die for against Young Boys and also from our big striker Romelu Lukaku.
He scored the perfect hat-trick, a header, a right foot and a left foot. He could have had 5 if he wanted but he missed 2 big chances. But that’s taking nothing away from his fantastic performance as he put any critisism to rest.
Now it’s all about transferring that form from the whole team to Sundays premier league game against Leicester City. It will be one of those games where they will put 10 men behind the ball and defend their goal tthoroughly. They will also try and hit Everton on the counter with the new in-form striker Kramaric who joined for an undisclosed fee in the winter transfer window.
You would expect Everton to go and win comfortably but it’s never that easy, especially when your league form is as bad as ours. But a superb win in mid-week could finally spur the blue’s to a huge win and get them 3 points closer to the top half of the Premier league.
Everton could have first choice left back Leighton Baines back from injury having missed the last two games. Oviedo and McCarthy are to be assessed after picking up injurys in the week. Kone and Lennon should also be in the squad after missing the trip to Switzerland.
Hopefully another blinder from the toffee’s on Sunday.
UP THE BLUES!
