Roberto Martinez today reiterated that club have not received and do not welcome and contact over the availability of Ross Barkley.
Recent reports in the press have suggested that bids in the region of £45 million have been made by Chelsea and Manchester City, however Martinez denied this.
“No we haven’t (had an enquiry),” said Martinez. “As you can imagine this January window for us is vital for recapturing our best moment of form and start building momentum.”
“Our best performers, if they get a lot of attraction, they will not be going in January.”
“We will always be buyers. We really enjoy watching Ross. He is someone with real passion for the game. You’d always pay a good entrance fee to watch him.”
“But as a team we need to focus on the next performance and result.”
Whether an actual bid actually transpires remains to be seen but it seems that Ross Barkley will still be an Everton player when the transfer window closes.
